Microscopic studies of the cambium activity and specific features of the xylem accumulation in above- and underground parts of Allanthus altlsslma and Maclura aurantlaca model trees were conducted. The terms of beginning and end of growth processes, the duration of seasonal growth, and peculiarities of developing early and late wood were established. The structural differences between stem and root wood specified by the influence of different environmental conditions have been revealed.
