Studies of marketability of stands and separate trees is an important practical task of forest taxation. Estimation of tree trunks without visible external and latent internal defects is not a complicated procedure. The presence of the mentioned defects causes the necessity to determine the merchantable structure of pine trunks. The revealing of interrelationships between the dimension of defects and merchantable structure of trunks will enable to establish effects of trunk taxation indices on the marketability of doty pine trees and develop special control cards for forestry workers.
