The influence of high spatial mosaic of moss-lichen cover, typical for northern taiga of Central Evenkia on the radial growth of dahurian larch (Larix gmelinii Rupr.) has been studied. Three study plots were set in larch forest багульниковом бруснично-зеленомошном on the north-western slope (8-10°) in close proximity to each other. They differed by areal share of the main components of moss-lichen cover (Aulacomnium turgidum, Pleurozium schreberi, Cladonia rangiferina, Hylocomium splendens) and thermic properties of the seasonally thawing layer. The worst thermal properties of soil in current climate conditions controlled comparatively low values of radial increment, the decreased sensitivity to air temperature variation in preceding the seasonal cambium activity period and in the beginning of radial growth season, and higher sensitivity to it at the end of growth season.
