Changes in organogenesis and growth of shoots in the course of the development of branches in trees of Pinus sibirica Du Tour at the generative stage of ontogeny were studied. At the first stage of ontogeny (female and first asexual stages), large main branches develop under the influence of age of trees. The older the tree, the lower the initial level of shoots’ growth that limits the possibility of macrostrobile initiation. The development of branches at the later stages of ontogeny (male and second asexual stages) is related to their own age to a greater degree. This fact is confirmed by the absence of essential differences between trees of different age by the growth ranges, within which initiation of male strobiles is possible.
