The problem of raising stability and improving the state of forests should be solved on the level of different-ranked ecosystems - forest stands, forest massifs, and their constituents. In this case, a state concept with a program and package of accurate technical elaboration might be the theoretical and applied foundation. The terms "stability" and "state" and methods for their estimation need standardization.
